RV family bucket list stop to Horseshoe Bend

One of the reasons that we were so excited to get to the Lake Powell and Page, Arizona area was because of Horeshoe Bend. Our family remembers watching other full time RV families in their vlogs stopping here and we couldn't wait to see it!

Horseshoe Bend is one of the most iconic features of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. This hike is wheelchair and kid friendly with a hardened trail that leads to an overlook viewpoint. There were some uneven spots that my kiddos stumbled upon as they were looking around and not paying attention.

Much of the rim of this canyon remains exposed so you definitely need to pay attention to your kids and pets. There were two shaded structures with a bench prior to the overlook but nothing at the actual viewpoint.

There was a $10 fee for parking at Horseshoe Bend and the parking lot area had bathrooms.

The overall hike...more like a walk on a rough sidewalk from the parking lot and back was about 1.5 miles.

We got there right away in the morning in the middle of May and the sun was at our back. This did not make for the best photos as there was a shadow over the bend. BUT it was still stunning. Our three kids loved watching the boats going down below going through the bend.
